Visiting the Media Center

Hours: 8:30 am - 3:15 pm, Monday - Friday.

Please feel free to stop by before school to return and select new books!

All students in Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade visit the media center once a week for instruction, literature appreciation and open book exchange. Our students in Third- Fifth Grade visit the library every other week for book exchange. For library lessons (research, projects, information literacy), our media specialist meets with classes on a flexible schedule, based on the instructional needs each quarter. Routinely, we see class at least 3 times each quarter. As well, the media center is open for all students at 8:55 am each morning for book exchange.

Checking Out Books

Kindergarten and First Grade: Students may have one book for two weeks.

Second grade: Students may check two books for two weeks.

Third, Fourth and Fifth grade: Students may have three books.  We ask that they take only one graphic novel because we don't have as many of those.

Lost & Overdue Books

We do not charge fines for overdue books.

Students will be asked to pay for the replacement of any lost or damaged books.

Overdue notices are sent home on a quarterly basis or more often. Please feel free to contact Ms. Safford or Ms. Rupprecht by phone or email with any questions or concerns regarding lost and damaged materials.

If a lost book is found after payment, the full amount will be refunded.
